WHY PLAY BALL WITH THE
FLYERS AAU CLUB TEAM?
The STNY Flyers organization offers the following
advantages for playing travel basketball:

Benefit of playing with the top players in our area – playing with the
top players will only help you develop your game, and avoid the “stagnation
effect” of playing with the same group of kids year-round.
·
Ability to receive diversity of high level coaching – our volunteer
coaches are selected by our board based upon their outstanding credentials in
both basketball knowledge / coaching abilities and their ability to serve as
positive role models to our young athletes.
The majority of our coaches have current/past experience coaching at the
college and/or high school levels.

Exposure to different coaching styles – playing for
different coaches greatly helps a player develop by offering the ability to
learn different playing styles, skills, and game strategies.

Compete at higher level tournaments & gain more
college exposure – the high level of play that has developed within the STNY Flyers AAU
Club results in the ability to successfully compete in the top brackets of
major northeast tournaments. Competing
against high level competition is the best way to “raise your game”. Also, our older teams – in particular our
National Team – competes in tournaments attended by numerous Division I, II and
III college coaches, which allows our players maximum college exposure.

Ability to form lifelong friendships – by playing with
different players in a positive environment, lifelong friendships are formed. In addition, many of our current players support
each other during the high school and college seasons.
