STNY FLYERS 16-U NATIONAL TEAM
Our National Team is the elite team of our organization. This team competes successfully against others from across the eastern
US in “showcase” tournaments that are scouted by coaches from Division I, II and III colleges and universities. Our National
Team players have received numerous college contacts as a result of exposure with this team, many leading to future college
basketball participation.
Our National team is coached by current Broome Community College Women’s Basketball Coach Mike Huggler. During the
past eight years, Coach Huggler’s BCC teams have gone 150-75, qualified for post-season play seven out of eight years and
won the MSAC regular season title in 2005 and 2008. He was named MSAC as well as Region III “Coach of the Year” for
the 2004-2005 and 2007-2008 seasons. Coach Huggler also serves on the Board of Directors for the Basketball Coaches
Association of New York (BCANY).
